Lifetime Income Series: Live Long and Never Outlive Your Assets

Due to advances in medicine people are living longer. According to the Social Security Administration, a male aged 65 today has a life expectancy of nearly 83 years, and a woman 85 years. But these are just average figures for the general population. With healthier lifestyle choices, the retiree today has a very good chance of living to 90 or beyond. That is the good news for those in or nearing retirement. The bad news, according to the latest studies, is that over 50% of retirees will experience a lower standard of living during retirement. And certainly some of those will outlive their assets and end up broke. This week Jim and John will cover strategies to help retirees avoid this predicament. They illustrate these strategies through the case study of Larry and Clara Clancy. The guest this week is Dr. Jack Wolfson, author of the book, “The Paleo Cardiologist: The Natural Way to Heart Health”. Dr. Wolfson discusses why he believes heart disease is not genetic, but arises from poor nutrition and chemical toxins, and is preventable.
